Hi,
I had an '85 9K Turbo a few years aqo - awesome car until the clutch slave cylinder went with about 135K on the clock. Unfortunately I didn't have the time or space to sort it so I ended up selling for spares :-(
Anyway, I'm in need of another car and have spotted a '90 9Ki - 141K but 3 PO with full service history - main dealer up until Feb 2011, then local Saab specialists by next 2 owners. I've asked present owner about any work on the slave cylinder in the history - it seems the master cylinder was replaced in '96 at 41K but there is no reference to any other work being carried out on the clutch.
I know there is no definitive guide, but what would you think is the average lifetime of the slave? Was 135K on my Turbo a little low? Should I just walk away from this one with 141K on the clock or could it have a good few miles left yet?
Once bitten, twice shy and all that :-)
Thanks for any advice!
