Well, I brought this up with my wife Posted by Bill Homer [Email] (#3427) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bill Homer) on Fri, 14 Dec 2012 10:47:58 In Reply to: interesting info, dref, Fri, 14 Dec 2012 09:09:27 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
and she thought that the Buick Regal is "just hideous looking" when I pointed one out to her, especially compared with some other car designs we like such as the Volkswagen CC and the Hyundai Sonata - she has no interest at all in the Buick. GM somehow grafted some "chrome barge" retro-looking pieces on what could/should have been a nice clean design, but I suppose (or would like to hope) that they did engage in some market research that told them that this look is what their target customers want to see - both in North America and in China. Does this car really need a "Buick shield" logo the size of a grapefruit on the trunk lid (even worse on the Lacrosse)? Does it need a grille that looks like a 1954 Mercury, or big chrome gills on the Turbo version? How about 17"-18"-19" polished alloy wheels to drive over Chicago's potholed streets (100% assurance of repeat trouble that I have had with 16" wheels)?
One of our cars will be replaced in the somewhat near future, so we are looking around.
