You do NOT need to pull the throttle body. The starter will come out easily without removing anything else.

Remove the negative battery cable.
Use a 13mm socket to remove the (+) cable from the starter.
Use a 10mm (or 8mm? I can't remember) socket to remove the trigger wire from the starter.
Use a 10mm socket to remove a bolt that holds the (+) battery cable to a stamped steel metal bracket where the starter bolts to the bellhousing.
Remove the nut on the bottom of the starter; 17 or 18mm.
Go in from under the battery area, and remove one bolt that holds the top of the starter. 18mm or 19mm. The starter is held with one nut and one bolt. Not 2 long bolts as said above.

From there, the starter will come straight up through the gap between the engine and fake firewall. Reinstall is the same.

I have literally done this in under 10 mins on several occasions. NOTHING needs to come off except the negative battery cable, and the starter itself.

When you reassemble, make sure to put that stamped steel bracket back on that holds the positive cable.



There is a metal bracket that holds the positive starter cable in place witha 10mm head bolt; remove that bolt.
