there's plenty of other possibilities.
I had a heater core leak on daughter's '95 that went on for 4 years with only a whiff of coolant--no fogging, nothing on the floor. When it finally died it was REALLY leaking, but still no fogging and only a few drops on the floor. The core in my '96 didn't leak into the car or fog the windows but you could smell the coolant in the cabin.
The '95 had a cracked hose at the throttle body which was hard to find, but still drained a bunch of coolant every month. My kid just kept it topped up and all was well. Car was 3 hours away and I didn't see it much, so hard to diagnose. Had another '96 that had a crack at one of the hose fittings in the expansion tank.
