MT Capacity (long)

Hey all. I just changed my 97 Aero's 5 speed. Actually put in a used one that I have had in the garage for about 8 years. It was a Goldwing pull. I had it on the bench and figured now was the time to add oil to it. I wedged it enough to make the engine side vertical (checked with a level) and had the level check hole at the 12 o'clock position (within the check plug)figuring thats as level as its gonna get. Started adding oil, one quart, two quarts, expecting at anytime for it do start weeping out as full. Hmmm wait, wait, wait....nothing. No leaks. Ok well lets keep going. Long story short it took about 2.6-2.7 quarts of fluid before it started weeping out the level hole. Does this sound right?
Opinions anyone? Overserviced? Keep in mind that the tranny was drained of oil for prob the last 9 years or so.
Thanks
