Water temp would have been around 100C. Hadn't thought of coking. They run Mobil1 5W-40 turbodiesel truck oil. The car is wicked fast when cold but when warm they couldn't get over 12 pounds of boost on Saturday. That night we put a big scoop in front of the ambulance intercooler hoping to ram more air through to the radiator. Sunday boost went up to 15, but it still ran hot and wasn't as quick as it can be. Injectors were running over 100% duty cycle so it wasn't lean.
The engine is turned 90 degrees to be fore and aft in the Nissan. The plumbing to and from the radiator had to be extended to fit. The radiator may be partly clogged. The shrouding between it and the massive intercooler is questionable. They're only racing 3 times this year so all testing has to happen on the track during the two days of the race. The race has become so competitive that any downtime other than driver changes and refueling knocks even the fastest cars out of the top ten of the 140 car field. The two times they won, at Loudon and Monticello, the weather was cool.
