Hey all,
If anyone is feeling like their 9000 (mine is a '93 Aero @ 204k miles) has become cumbersome in the corners, I highly recommend upgrading your suspension bushings with Poly Urethane. I had my indy install Poly rear bushings and new (non poly) front bushing into the A-arms, new end caps, new sway bar links and bushings (non poly), new Poly sway bar bushings (inner) and new ball joints on both sides.
Oh
My
Goodness
What a difference!
The work eliminated a clunky jiggle symptom that I was experiencing and at the same time provided a HUGE upgrade to the steering feel and overall handling of the car. I fell in love with it all over again. Changing lanes is effortless, power delivery is smoother especially under torque and it truly does corner on rails now.
The parts total was about $150 from eEuro and my indy only charges $65/hr so for less than $400 I have transformed my old Saab into a race car! :P
Heads up on the Poly rear A-arm bushes from eEuro, my indy had to bore out the inner diameter just a touch because they would not slide on the pin of the A-arm. I completely trust his judgement and he said even with a press they were just too small. It could be because my car is a 1993 vs. 94-98 but I'm not sure.
Happy Saabing
-Seth
