I did the same thing with my old 97 Aero 5 spd a few years ago but I added the Stage I upgrade. Very easy swap. I sent them an ECU out of a 93 CSE that I had laying around so I kept my 97 Aero ECU as a spare. They were not particular about it being an exact swap. I still need to install the Stage I T7 ECU in my 96 Aero 5 spd after I change the clicking axle shaft. It really wakes the car up but you have to be careful of overboost until the ECU had had its adaption run completed. The procedure is on this site.
