There are two latches that hold the rear seat bottoms in place - one per side in approximately the center of each non-symmetrical section. There is a nylon ribbon loop attached to each latch, which is long enough to peek out of the junction between the seat bottom and the seat back - you can leave this showing for easier access, or tuck it in out of sight (sounds like yours it tucked in). You pull on the ribbon while scooting the seat forward an inch or so, then it is free from the latch. Unless the latch is broken, which happened on my previous 9000.
