93 9k cse gear shift adjustment

Been working on a 93 9k cse. It had been parked about a year or two. Been replacing parts here and there. Clutch was replaced prior to being parked.
Driving one day everything was fine not having any issues shifting. Stoped put gas then left, after take off I couldn’t get from 2nd to 3rd then it wouldn’t go back into 2nd.
Coasted in neutral for a quick moment then tried getting back into 2nd, with a little extra pressure it went into gear. Cause I h concer because this had never happened I took notice to pay attention and see how my 2nd to 3rd shift was gonna respond.
On shift from 2nd to third it wouldn’t go, I gave it a little force as I just did prior to get it into 2nd… felt something just give out under my hand. Pulled over no gear would work. Shifter just limp and completely loose.
Looked at shift coupler it was intact looked like it may had replaced recently.
Checked base of gear shifter noticed ball socket plastic had been broken.
It was a PITA but I just replaced Ball socket.
Shifter seems to be almost all the way forward not at all anywhere near 2, 4th or R would be.
Loosened up the shift coupler not able to really get any adjustments or result from doing so.
Not to sure if a gear shift adjustment would be the answer, But haven’t been able to find any forum on how to do the adjustment on a 93. Nor seen anybody else’s run into this issue.
