I choose the EBC because people on the board said good things and I found their website more informative. I don't remember if I could even find teh KVR website but the EBC's sounded good. I think AdamB is right kevlar and carbon fiber are the same thing.
People say cross drilled will crack, but the guy at brakewarehouse said that is a thing of the past. The rotor holes are beveled (I think that's what he said) and this prevents them from cracking. I'm sure they used to and I'm sure under heavy excessive use (like racing) they still do, just not so sure anymore and the guy I spoke too was very addimate that there was no way they would crack under normal use (granted I has no idea who I was talking to, but he seemed to know his stuff.)
I choose cross drilled over slotter or crossdrilled and slots for a few reasons.
1) cross drilled run cooler than slotted and I use my brakes harder than most. I also live in florida where it rains suddenly and my understanding is that one major causes of rotor warpage is hot to cold suddenly as in hard braking followed by rain. The difference in cooling was 100 degrees I don't remember if that was celcious or ferenheit.
2) the cooler temp is supposed to make the pad last longer
3) slotted rotors cut the pad. Ever so slightly, but they actually scrap clean the pad surface. this can be very useful if you are racing and/or glazing your pads and need to maintain fresh pad surface. To racers brake pads and rotors are through away items. To me this means my pads don't last as long. Plus this is unneccassary I will not be braking so hard as to exceed the melting/ glazing point of this pads of 550 degree's celcious, especially with cross drilled rotors.
I would recommend that you call brake parts warehouse 1-888-428-7278. They sponsor the board and seem to know what they are talking about.
