I am on my fourth 9000. 1st an '87 9000s(non-turbo), second, an '88 9000t(turbo), third, a '94 9000cse(high pressure turbo), and now a '95 9000cse,V-6. I love the 9000 series and would be happy to have anyone of my previous cars except the non-turbo. But your wife might like the non-turbo. The engines of the non-turbo are just not that fast or powerful, but they are good engines for a four cylinder. I very much enjoy the V-6 also-smooth, fast, quiet, and trouble-free. The difference, as I understand, between the cs and the cse, is that the cs is available only with the low pressure turbo, and the many standard features of the cse are optional on the cs. All cse's have the high pressure turbo, or the V-6, and there are very few options because leather seats, moon roof, power this and that are all standard. Tap into Edmunds or Kelly Bluebook and they should be able to clear up your questions a little more. By the way, all my cars were automatic, and I never had a problem-two cars were run to 140k miles, the most recent one is at 62k and they all shifted smoothly. I also take care of my cars, and change all fluids way before specified, usually using synthetic fluids. Nor do I pound the car. I take care of it-it takes care of me. I like the cargo capacity of the 9000, and the passenger comfort along with my comfort. It's the best all around car I ever owned. My three previous cars were Mercedes.
