Switch to "winter" Aero

I broke down and bought a set of wheels and snows to transform my Aero for
winter use. For the last 2 years I have endured Boston winters with Michelin 205-55-16 XGT-Z4's on stock Aero wheels 16 x 6.5".
Now, for winter use, I have a set of 195-65-15 Michelin Artic Alpin mounted
on 15 x 7" ATP Razze 5-spoke wheels.
I was expecting the car's handling to be degraded, more "torque steer", tramlining, more squirm, etc.
What is curious is the Aero feels like a different car, mostly in a positive
sense. Even though the new wheels are wider, the car seems to be less
sensitive to "truck ruts" and "tramlines" less.
The ride is a little more compliant, and also quieter.
The car seems to turn-in to a corner quicker.
I have not really pushed the tires yet in the dry, nor have driven in rain
or snow, so that part of the story is incomplete.
Interesting, not at all what I was expecting.
