Ari mentioned a while back that displayed voltage varies from 9K to 9K, and that the thing to watch is drops in voltage. My '95CSE has never shown over 10v after cranking, though it pops up to 14.4 as soon as it gets running. Normal after crank voltage displays as 7s and 8s. Contacts and other basics have been checked and cleaned. The battery has also been replaced. No change.
On my '87, if the votage dropped to 10, I was watching it closely. If it got below 9, I got a new battery. The '95 seems to be getting along fine, with no hesitation to crank and go. It just gives me this queasy feeling when I look at the display.
By the way, isn't the temp display default great? We see lots of freezing temps up this way. It is good to be reminded that things could be getting slick.
