Screw him. Exercise your rights (whatever they may be in the great state of Connecticut). I had a vaguely similar run-in with the law recently. I live in a small city dominated (and I mean dominated) by American cars - Chrysler factory sustains the economy here. I was picked out of a group of cars on the highway, all of which were Dodge Rams, Neons, etc., and pulled over for speeding. I think it was 60 in a 45. It was rush-hour and I was just moving along with traffic. Anyway, I did not pay the ticket. I filed a motion to dismiss because a Uniform Traffic Citation cannot serve as a legal subpoena/affidavit in Indiana. This forces the Prosecutor to re-file the complaint against me, or decline prosecution. Moreover, I do not believe I was traveling at 60 mph; therefore, the state has the burden of demonstrating that the instrument used to gauge my speed was calibrated recently, etc. Furthermore, in some jurisdictions, officers cannot arbitrarily pick one vehicle out of a group of speeding motorists. In other words, if he had pulled over two of the five speeding motorists, one couldn't argue on those grounds. Again, some jurisdictions. Can't offer much more help; I'm a Hoosier, not a Husky.
