I can't proffer any experiences with these timers, but would doubt that you really need one. You didn't state what model 9K you own, i.e. whether an oil- or water-cooled turbo is installed in the car, but you are contemplating a boost increase only up to the level of a stock Aero.
Using a common-sense approach to cool-downs will probably provide ample shut-down protection for your turbo bearing and motor oil. If you don't have a water-cooled turbo, you'll have to impose a more concerted effort toward cool-downs, however. As for my '95 Aero, unless I'm spooling up the turbo frequently and am ready to shut down soon thereafter, I don't practice much in the way of cool-down procedure. E.g., If I'm tooling down I-10 at 80 mph in the summer and immediately pull off for a pit stop, I will allow it to spin and cool down for a minute or two before shutting the engine down. Additionally, using synthetic oil will help greatly in its ability to resist oxidation induced by the hot turbo bearing.
If you use a common-sense approach to driving and a good full-synthetic oil, your turbo should last the life of the car, without a timer.
