I just traded my ol 86 900t for a 89 9000 CD. I like the car, but it has some annoying problems I would like to fix. The most annoying problem it has is that the pictogram of the car is lighting up and saying it needs a tailight. I replaced the two small bulbs with two new ones(same brand) and the tail/brake bulbs with two new onew also(also same brand). the lights work fine, but this car picture keeps lighting up. Once it lights up it stays on. How do I make it stop. It reminds me of my brother in law's pontiac. I know it works by resistance, is there something I am missing?
Also. the anti-lock light sometimes comes on. I am pretty sure it is a wheel sensor. How do I go about diagnosing which one? I read the FAQ at townsend, and it seems that I need to find a ABS brain from a 91 car. I will, but is there something simple to check first?
Other then that, everything else works pretty well. The auto tranny was replaced 50k ago, and it shifts and drives really nice. The leather interior is in good shape. The body is also pretty good. A couple small dings and scratches.
My wife likes it much better then the 84 900 S she was driving.
Any other things I should know? I know the tranny can be troublesome, but it can't be worse the the BW 37s from the 900.
