Biking isn't a bad option at all!

(This just came to my mind when reading a thread that was discussed yesterday)
I'm a student at a university and I also have worked hard to get an old Saab 9000S which I really like despite all the little technical problems I'm having with it. I use my bike about 80-90% of my trips to the university and that's 4.3 miles to one direction. And here in Finland it's very often below minus 10-20 Celsius degrees during the winter. I have four good reasons to do that:
1) I save my lovely car for wearing out for no good reason
2) I save my money because Saab consumes much gas when running cold
3) I save my environment because an old Saab, like all the other old cars, isn't really a environmentally friendly car
4) This keeps me in good shape (doesn't have to go jogging or to a gym every day)
I understand people who do want to drive their cars (especially Saabs) even for a mile or two. Especially so it's there in U.S. cause biking isn't that popular and easy there due to cheap gas and traffic management. I know that for 5 month's experience in Greensboro (NC)... Traffic management really sucked there (from pedestrian's or biker's view), sorry to say.
This was just an opinion outside the States, nothing more... Merry Christmas!
Keep on saabing and biking, Terho
