Painting the discs was a waste of effort, the heat will remove the paintsooner or later. Unfortunately the cross drilled rotors were also a waste of time as they perform no usefull purpose, No they do not aid cooling, the alleged purpose of the holes is to allow superheated gases from red hot pads to escape preventing the equivalent of "hydroplaning" when you desperately need to stop. In practice this will almost never occur on a street driven car not using competition pads. But the holes will chew away at your brakes pads happily, reducing their lives dramatically (but you will find this out for yourself :-) all the while making strange whirring/clicking sounds.
I would suspect that at $50 each the fellow drilled those holes 'all by hisself' using the old drillpress in the back of his garage.
