quattro...stop..before you go and douse your IAC valve with carb cleaner note that the manufacturer highly discourages this due to the sensitive electronic circuitry inside. you'll kill it. i'd first check the basics. the throttle position sensor. but first remove the inlet hose from the throttle housing.( lrg rubber duct) then with butterfly fully open clean inlet with carb cleaner, then close and verify for proper gap between butterfly and inlet surface to allow for idle air. refit hose and go to throttle pos. sensor. loosen securing screws, and adjust slowly until you hear a click just off idle. within a fraction of a millimeter. tighten screws and check. of course the proper method is to use a meter to check the ohmic value at pins. also make certain the decel. dashpod is not holding the throttle linkage open.
