I have been getting intermitant acceleration for the last gew months when driving the Saab open throttle. In the last month the temp gauge would act up after warming up. Started dipping down and then up over and over. It would never go into the red..
I added a can of Bar's Stop Leak last week because, although I never detected a leak, once the car warmed up, the sweet smell of antifreeze was in the cabin. (had been for months)
On a little run the other night when the car was warm I started blowing white smoke. The car was not run more than 500 meters before parked.
I have found the Townsendimports technical documents for head gasket replacement on the 900 2.0 16v T. Is this the instruction I need for my 9000? I would greatly appreciate any hints and tips as I have never replaced a head gasket before. Any special tools etc.?. Can I get away with just replacing the head gasket or do I need the valve cover and turbo gaskets? Does the turbo need to come off or can I just disconect the exhaust?
Thanks,
Matt Reese
