Bit of a digression, but another mystery to me, besides what is normal flow to the feet vent, is...Why is there such a big behavioral difference between the "80" (ºF) setting and the next higher step, "HI"?
Picture this. Very cold outside. Very cold inside. 40s say. Brrrr. You drive off. You set the ACC on "80". Nothing. Why not? Well, you speculate, maybe the engine hasn't had time to heat up yet, and the ACC doesn't want to blow cold air. Sounds fair enough, you think. But then you try setting the ACC on the next higher setting, "HI". A blast of air from the vents! And the air sure gets warm reasonably quickly.
So, why the big difference between "80" and "HI"? Doesn't make sense, at least from a human-computer interaction point of view.
