Climate Control

The climate control system on my 1992 9kT works fine for a little while. Then, when I "open up" the car and begin to drive the way it's supposed to be driven...quick acceleration, etc. The car obviously becomes hot and the engine heats up. If I leave the climate control at a certain standard temperature such as 68 degrees F, it exceeds this temp and continues to heat up more and more. How does everyone elses climate control work on their 1991 or 1992 9kT's? Does it hold the temperature constant like its supposed to? Has this ever happened to anyone else? Is this common for these older 9k's? I have been dealing with this problem since I bought the car, and I am getting sick of having to open the windows in the middle of the winter due to extreme temps inside the car (75 degrees F +). Does anyone know how to solve this problem or what sort of pieces to look at for possible failure? The rest of the system works fine (fan, etc). It's just the temp control is off. The heater core is still leaking onto the SRS unit...dealership obviously cheaply repaired the recall. I am going to make them replace the heater core completely. Someone please help me soon before I boil in my car. I can't turn the climate control off or else the windows fog up and rolling the windows down makes it too cold, and lets possible snow in...HELP ME SOON PLEASE!!!
