Matt,
I have a 01 9kt too, and my read of the manual would lead me to believe that if the alarm's on (blinking LED) then you CAN'T open tha passenger's door.
In my limited experience, it might be possible that the pass. door's "pin switch" (interior light and alarm) was in the service position. If you push the switch in and twist, it should stay in so you can work on stuff without the lights coming on, etc. If I'm getting it right, the pass-side switch was in this service position for 5 months until it popped back into normal, and now the alarm goes off because the switch is detecting the open door.
BTW: Confirm this by recalling whether or not the interior light worked on the pass side during those 5 months of peace & quiet. If no light, then we're right on. If the light worked, then I'm full of beans.
The manual has some limited stuff on setting the "transport" mode so the motion detector is off, but not much else.
The Townsend site has a great manual on the tricks of resetting and setting the sensitivty of the motion detector for the alarms.(see Saabnet's Links page, the Parts & Services page, first entry. At this writing the SAABNET cgi server is not working, so the link is dead, but try, its worth it) Print out these instructions and test it out.
Hope this helps
Ben
