I don't know your year or model, but on a 1986 9kt the transmission oil fill plug is on the rear of the transmission right beside the speedometer cable entry. After the 17mm or 19mm headed plug is removed, the level may be checked by inserting the engine oil dipstick so that the step (about 10cm from the end of the dipstick) hangs up on the filler plug sealing surface. The level can then be read from the non-engine side of the dipstick. The max/min marks are about 2cm from the end, and about 6mm apart. Note that the plug has a washer, and that the case has no drain plug. On a 1987.5 and later, the plug is on the forward side of the transmission, below the clutch line/clutch bleed opening, and has an integral dipstick. On turbo models a pipe may have to be loosened in order to gain access.
