The offset is around 30mm or lower, at the very highest, you may be able to get away with 35mm. This is on the rear, on the front, there is more clearance. I'm running 15 x 7 wheels with a 35mm offset, and only need spacers (3mm thickness) on the rear.

205/50/16 is one of the specified sizes for that year 9000T, and in fact, weren't 16" Aero wheels an option, of not standard? But, they were/are 16 x 6.5 I believe.

225/40/16 is a bit small for the 9000, the smallest should be 205/55/15, which is 23.89" overall diameter, 225/40/16 is only 23.09". Might give you a little better acceleration, at the expense of mileage. If your Aero wheels are 15", 225/40/15 is WAY too small!

If you want to keep a lower profile, I'd suggest 16" wheels with a 205/50/16 tire, or if you must have a 17", make sure the offset is 30mm or less and get a 205/45/17 or 205/40/17.
