I have an 87 9k with 176k, when turning the key the engine will turn, but they will stop. I have to turn the key to the off position and try it again. Sometimes the engine will turn over then start on the second try, while other times I have to keep trying it. I not sure if it is a short in the ignition switch or possibley a dead spot in the starter.
