I entered the covered public parking garage near the bus terminal
in Harvard Sq. (just around the corner from the lawfirm of Dewey,
Cheatem, & Howe) and noticed a beat -up rice cooker parked
at the side of the entrance. I drove slowly around him and proceeded
towards the opposite end of the lot when I noticed a vehicle pulling
out, not far in front of me. I stopped and let the vehicle back out of
the parking space. All of a sudden, the rice cooker is directly behind
me honking his horn. I thought that he didn't see the car pulling out
and was impatient to get by me. Anyway, I pull into the now vacant
parking space and the Honda peels out of there like a BOOH! I must
have stumbled upon his personal parking space, by mistake. I
walked out of the garage with a funny feeling, a concern about
leaving Saabrina alone and defenseless. I went back to check on
her 5 minutes later and sure enough, there was a guy standing
next to her, but I wasn't sure if it was the same guy who was in the
rice cooker. He walked away while I walked around Saabrina to
make sure that all was ok, which was the case. However, when
I came back, about 4 hours later, there was a huge scratch on
the drivers' door - this jerk must have taken his key to Saabrina's
side - about 12" along the whole side of her door. My question is
this: I'd like to repair the scratch myself - I've heard that Saab uses
some sort of zinc based primer. Do I need to prime this scratch,
or will the zinc 'bleed' into the scratch? She's cirrus white, so I
don't think there'll be much of a color-match issue. Oh well, I
guess it could have been worse - still, it's discouraging!
