my 88 9000T had an intermittent blower fan squeal that I solved as follows: I cut an opening about 1 sq. inch on top of the plastic blower housing. The cut was made with a utility knife along 3 sides leaving one side scored to act as a hinge.There is a rubber plugged opiening on the side of the housing which is a good place to shine a light while you locate the point where the nylon(?) squirrel cage meets a metal shaft.A judicious squirt from a spray lubricant equipped with an extension tube should do it. I used a teflon type lube (TAL 5) and it has held up for a few months now. Lube sparingly to prevent odors in the cabin air. Duct tape reseals the opening and provides quick access should it need a touch-up.
