That will be a complete set of manuals that will cover the 9000 lineup from 1985 through the end of production. Unless you intend on servicing all possible systems on all years, it's not necessary.

First, go out and buy the Haynes manual for the 9000. It covers the UK models and isn't the absolute best manual, but it will do just fine for most of the work you need to do - tune ups, brakes, accessories, etc.

Next, just as Bill D says, buy individual manuals. For example, the electrical wiring manual is a book unto itself, and only covers one or two years. Yes, most of the information is the same from year to year, but that's how Saab did it. You can buy an electrical manual for your year for about $25 from the dealer. I recommend just getting the Haynes manual and an electrical manual. If you run into some really tricky problem, then you can go to the dealer and buy the manual for just that section, like ABS or Air Conditioning. But I've kept three 9000's running for over 8 years with just the electrical manuals, the Haynes manual, and a Bentley manual covering the 16V 900 - the engines are pretty similar.

Remember, the garage manual is what Saab would recommend an actual Saab-certified garage would get. $1K for manuals is cheap, considering that a decent Saab garage needs a $3K ISAT tool, and probably another $5-10K in special tooling.
