If you are just talking about the steering tie rod it is very simple, you only need to jack up the car and don't worry about the wheel it can hang freely. You might need a pickle fork to separate the ball joint, I put in a new rack two weekends ago and it actually hammered appart without any problem. Just count the number of threads showing so your toe in will be set the same.
