I have the exact same car, same year too, with the exact same problem. My Saab mechanic says that all 89 9KCDTs came with the Nivomats. He said they no longer use them because they're expensive and they fail often. So, when regular shocks are put in with the springs that are designed for Nivomats, they sag. To correct this, they use springs from the 9KT. He says any year will fit. I recently read that 95-98 9Ks have a smoother ride and will fit our 89s. I'm about to shop for used springs from a 95- 9K. If you know who carries them online, I'd like to know.
