Gene, this all started because I am having new front & rear sway bars and bushings (from SAS) installed. The front went in without problems but the bolts that go through the rear bar and rear shocks are frozen (this is being worked on). It was at this point that an apparent leak in the left rear shock was noticed and the Nivomat discussion started.
My local indie mechanic tells me that I have to replace them with the same thing but the people who sold me the car (and Sob Story so far) tell me that these were only used in the CD models not the 5 dr. And now you are confirming what the mechanic has told me and giving me the standard shock/new spring alternative (whicj Sob Story mentioned as well and offered to sell me the springs...new I assume...and do the work).
I also like the self leveling feature (even if I didn't know I had it) but it is a very expensive replacement part.
The Red Box went in without any problems and I got a reading of 15.5 psi without flooring it on a calibrated boost gauge. Not bad for this model year of 9000. The turbo response is faster but I believe I will need some kind of upgraded fuel pressure regulator to reach its full potential. I am thinking of a rising rate unit from Swedish Dynamics.
