Hello everyone, earlier this week i "purchased" a new to me 1989 9000CD, actually i traded my old volvo (a 1990 240) and $200 for the car. Although as with any used vehicle purchase there are a few problems to be addressed overall I am very pleased and enthusiastic about the saab. The idle air control valve was sticking open until the car warmed-up fully, but I cleaned it out, and lubricated it and it seems to cured. Also the car could use a new set of tires. I noticed that there is a winter tire size listed in the owner's manual, would it be advisable to run the smaller sized tires year-round? Obviously not a snow tire year round, just the slightly smaller size -- to me the 195/65 look big on the car, of course the general trend is to put bigger tires on.... Anyway, hopefully I won't run into to many stumpers working on this car, so far it seems fairly straight-forward. Of course I have previously owned Audis and peugeots, so I'm pretty open-minded regarding technology.
