Good choice getting a '92. This was the last year the CS body style
was made and is sure to one day be a classic. There are limited choices
for aftermarket performance products, but there are some. I'm not sure
about ground effects - in my opinion, the '92 is pretty agressive looking
in stock form. However, your choices for free flow exhausts are basically
two: JT and Abbott. The JT is aluminized steel, 3" in diameter, and is
a fine piece of Swedish-welded craftsmanship, very reasonably priced. The
Abbott is stainless, 2 1/2" in diameter, well made, but more than 4 times
the price for the whole system ($1800 vs.$400). There are other choices
for mufflers and resonators, but a for a complete system from the turbo
back, these are the only two. It's hard to beat K&N for making your vehicle
breath easier - I've got a 8" cone-type that cost less than $40.
Having a background in mechanical engineering, I feel that the electrical volume of the factory manuals is the essential guide any mechanic should have in his/her library. The mechanical aspects
of the 9000 are pretty intuitive, and the Haynes is sufficient, probably,
for most mechanically inclined folks. However, the electrical content in
the Haynes is somewhat less than sufficient, IMHO.
