You can but the new pump will not fit correctly inside the assembly. You will have to cut some of the plastic out of the assembly, and with it being shoaked in gasoline for 11 years you never know if it will break.

I just had my fuel pump go bad. I had my mechanic do the job, It was $470 total. I would check with a few of the sponsers see if they can get you a new pump and assembly for cheaper.
