Here's the scene - I was behind someone who was turning, so I slowed down to ~35 mph. Once they turned, I accelerated and I heard a thud and immediately lost all acceleration power. The car was really struggling to stay running, so I pulled over to the shoulder. It stalled, and I let it sit for a minute and then started it up again. It ran sporadically, revving up to ~2500 rpm, then almost stalling. It did this for a few up and down cycles, then seemed to even out to a normal idle. I let it run for a minute, then tried to take off again. Same problem - no acceleration power. The car was sort of chugging to move at all, so I pulled it over and it stalled for good. Won't even start now. I had it towed and now I'm just waiting to take it look at it. Its like 10 degrees here in Maine, and an ice storm is approaching for tomorrow. Since I have no garage, it could sit until Monday. So I was hoping that I might get some ideas from the board before I try to figure it out. I checked the serp-belt and it was fine. Other than that, I have no idea what's up. The car has 190K miles, and has been running real well since I bought it in January.
