Although customer service may have left you with the idea, it is not true that only Saab dealers are authorized service agents. I live on the Monterey (CA) peninsula, where there is not Saab dealer. When we went to Santa Clara (Silicon Valley) to get my wife's 9-5 wagon, we learned that our local Jaguar dealer is an "Authorized Service Center". This means being able to get the 9-5 serviced without driving 75 miles each way; this is handy, because the service is no-charge and actually turns out that way (as opposed to our having to put out cash for gas to Santa Clara.)

This also turns out to mean that the Jaguar dealer carries a regular stock of Saab parts, a handy source re my 91 9kT. Although I usually try to find better prices via BB advertisers!
