Redline tranny fluid

An appalling number of 9K owners who've installed Redline MTL in their transaxles have experienced dramatic failures. I've watched this forum for years and searched the archives, and the occurrences of these failures with this fluid is downright scarey.
Before seeing the warnings, I installed MTL in my '91's tranny, and six months later I experienced a major failure requiring a $3k remanufactured transaxle. Townsend Imports also report such problems, seeing one unit disintegrate prematurely as mine did. BTW, I sensed no improvement in shifting after installing MTL.
I can't say what results would result from installing another type of Redline fluid, but you won't see me using anything other than Saab's synthetic fluid, which I have now, or the originally recommended fossil engine oil.
