But naturally, it has no rate of climb indicator. I too got mine because I love driving in the mountains, though most of our roads here, even the highest ones, are below what you probably see in CO. :)
I would think the best place to look for one, would be in fact an aviation supply place, that would sell aircraft gauges. I don't think you'll be able to find a gauge designed for automotive use, that has a rate of climb indicator. But, I don't see why you can't just throw an aviation gauge in, as far as I know, most of them, at least for the homebuilt/experimental market run off 12V just like an auto gauge.
Do most altimeters even have a rate of climb indication, or is that only on the fancy military jet ones? My Dad's plane, I believe, has not rate of climb indicator on the altimeter. I do know you can purchase a separate gauge that is called vertical speed...
