I'm sure you are checking both front wheels. Depending on which part of the bearing is bad (if any), it could be either side. On my car, when the left wheel bearing went out, I hear a ringing (like brake squeal) from the front only during left turns, though towards the end it started doing it going straight as well, but not turning right. However, this situation persisted for at least six months before I replaced it, as the problem begin in a highly intermittant fashion.
I've heard that using improper torque on the axle nut when putting on a new hub/bearing assembly, can lead to very quick demise of the new unit, but this would be unimaginable if the dealer or competent shop installed it.
If your wheels pass the shake/wobble test, ie no play around the hub when jacked up, the bearing is likely fine. You could look to other areas, such as a bent brake rotor dust shield scraping on something. Also, though I think unlikely with the sound you describe, you could simply have a loose axle nut. I thought my right front wheel bearing was going out, as I got a ringing almost identical to that produced with the bad left front bearing. It turned out to be just a loose axle nut.
A final possibility could be a sticking/dragging brake caliper, though this generally would manifest itself in other ways, such as unevently or very quickly worn pads - you can certainly check that while you're in there.
Good luck!
