Odd Thumping Noises...

Hi, I've got a collection of symptoms and have done some diagnostic work, wondering if anyone can hazard a guess as to what's gone wrong here...

93 9k-T, 86k miles, and just replaced the passanger-side motor mount (under the water pump). That's when this thumping noise started. It's most hearable inside the car, sounds like something hitting against something else, kinda like a shoe hitting pavement. At 900rpm idle it happens about 5-8 times per second. From the engine compartment it's hard to hear, more noticible with the cover above the false bulkhead removed. Seems to be coming from somewhere in front of the passanger side wheel well. Wiggling the metal AC hoses that lead into the firewall and down underneath to somewhere seems to either trigger or stop the thumping, depending on which way wiggled. Also, this problem appeared soon after I changed the motor mount. Revving the engine above 1500 causes this noise to dissapear, below that it picks up in frequency with increased revs.

I'm quite puzzled by this, trying to think of something that is affected by revs, but located right in front of the passanger wheel well - I looked at the belt and all seems okay, belt in good condition and no excessive movement of the tensioner or any of the belt-driven components when engine is running. Also, the sound seems to be coming from further inside towards the passanger compartment, behind the engine.

Any guesses would be greatly appreciated!
