Hey all, I thought I'd post my experiance with removing/cleaning my 93's TCS throttle body yesterday. I've not found info on this particular device before (Haynes only talks about non-tcs), and I've been searching for the AIC in my car with no avail. Pulled the body yesterday, it's an intersting piece. Two small rubber lines going into it which spilled coolant when disconnected, a large electrical plug, and the backup cable, which can not be pulled. Also a small vacuum line coming out, which I would like to replace with silicon, but can't seem to unplug. Both sides have plastic or metal panels secured on with loc-tited screws, they were hard to remove, and in one case the screw head broke off when I tried to unscrew it. Looking inside shows a complicated bit of mechanicals, looks like the system that engages the backup cable for limp-home if the electronic throttle detects a fault. With the TB removed I looked inside the engine and was still unable to find any AIC-looking valve. Is it possible that the 93 with TCS has no AIC, since the computer can modulate the electronic throttle to control the idle air? Anyways, I cleaned the whole thing out with carb cleaner and the car runs a bit smoother now, especially getting on and off throttle.
