Well here's mine: All too often, better ain't better. Saab brakes are hard to beat. Admittedly, I have Townsend's Zimmerman cross-drilled rotors on my 91 and they're good. But I also bought Townsend's recommended Textar pads and ended up going back to stock Saab pads. Want to buy the Textar pads cheap? E-mail me. They're OK, I just don't think you can beat Saab pads for all-around performance. I don't like the feel of aftermarkets. They usually lack the sensitivity of the Saab pads, and they typically get harder with use, and they typically eat rotors. You have a problem with the performance of Saab pads? I doubt it. Think about it. When have the Saab brakes ever given you less than what you needed? When have they ever faded? When have they ever failed to stop you fast? I'll grant you, you can get third party pads cheaper. But in the long run, I think you'll end up paying in response or in rotor wear. If you must experiment, then do so with the rotors, not with the pads. My opinion.
