I have no experience with Xenon bulbs, but I recently fitted 100W main and dipped beam bulbs to my '96 Aero, UK spec (E-code headlamps). I looked for 80W for the dipped beam, but couldn't find any locally so fitted 100W there as well. After being flashed by a few other drivers, I lowered the beams a bit and have had no problems since. My main beam is now slightly lower than optimal, but only just and still a big improvement on before.
Both beams go through a twin main/dip relay as standard. I have had no problem with this relay so far. The lenses and reflectors are still only warm to the touch, even with all four bulbs on.
All this goes for my E-code headlamps. If you are in the US, with DOT headlamps, things might be very different. I have heard that the connectors on the DOT headlamps are really puny and will cause problems with 100W bulbs. I also cannot say how high-power DOT headlamps will look to other road users.
