Unfortunately not !! The problem occured less frequently so I chose to ignore it. I had the same problem before, but the ABS light came on as well and the throttle would not work even with my foot flat to the floor. That version of the problem turned out to be an ABS sensor.
The version I currently have gives me a tiny level of adjustment with my foot flat to the floor. That way I can at least pull over safely. You can reset the problem by switching off the engine and restarting with your foot flat to the floor. You don't need to rev it hard, just let the revs reach 3000 and keep revving for a while. It may not work first time but it will work after a couple of try's.
Have you tried the safety valve ? It seems to be a common suggested solution. You should be able to pick up a second hand throttle housing for a lot less than the new price. If you live in the UK try Bagnall SAAB in Birmingham on 0121 440 1555. I know he has one at the moment because he tried replacing the throttle housing on mine to try and sort out my fuel pump problem but it didn't work.
