Did you tighten the bolt on the rear dogbone mount?

I replaced my upper motor mount a couple months ago, and heard some popping that I couldn't really localize except to say passenger side, in front of me, and happened just as you describe, under acceleration and braking. I checked and noticed that I had not tightened the center bolt going through the rear section of the dogbone mount at all.

I'm pretty in tune with the sounds my car makes, so I heard it after only a day...

Not sure this is your problem, but you seem to have other areas covered. I've never heard of a wheel bearing making a popping noise, especially related to acceleration.

Now if this were only on decel., and the noise were coming out of the tail pipe, and you just put on an Abbott exhaust system, we'd have the answer right there... :)
