Jacking question. Bent floor pan by jack point

I had my 91 9000 jacked up for a couple of weeks. I placed a jack stand under the right front jack point. When I put the wheel back on and lowered the car, I noticed that the floor pan was pushed up somewhat. there is a noticeable hump (if you are looking) in the passenger floor area.
Can I just pound this back down from inside the car? Where do the rest of you place jack stands? there is a double rail right in front of that jack point (i.e. toward the center of the car and right in front of the fuel lines), will a jack stand work there? Is that too close to the center of the car?
Where do people jack the car? I usually put a floor jack under the rear point of the control arm, and then put the jack stand under the jack point. Also, where can you put jack stands for the rear of the car? For the rear, I usually jack at the jack point.
Seem like dumb questions, but I often find jacking the car to be the most stressful part of fixing things (next to a bolt breaking inside something....like the timing cover. which is another story).
