Even if driven quite hard, that water cooled turbo should have last a lot longer than 66k miles, at LEAST double that. The transmission, who knows, perhaps they used the car to train their 15 year old how to drive, involving plenty of gear crunching? I've heard of some early 9000 Aeros needing the tranny replaced at under 100k miles. I think you're right in that it's all how you drive it. If the previous owner was flooring it in 1st and 2nd gear all the time, or abusing the syncros by downshifting to 2nd at 45 mph..
I'd see if you can find out more about that turbo replacement, it is indeed unusual. I'm still on my original turbo at 254k miles (water cooled also, but I do observe at least 10-15 seconds shut down time always, more if I have been driving hard.
