Is there a V8 under my hood??

I just bought a '96 CSE LPT 2.0 and boy is it really smooth. It feels like a V8, I swear it does. No turbo lag whatsoever, and no sign of stressing at all while driving it. Those balance shafts DO make a difference. Heck, I even put a new Volkswagen Golf GT TDI in it's place today... in my rear view mirror... where it belongs. I have to get used to this new found smoothness. To be honest, I thought balance shafts were a waste of money. Boy was I wrong!
